"Out of the amounts for Financial Assistance for Cultural and Artistic Affairs, $123,600 the first year from the general fund is provided to the Citizens Committee for the Historic Cavalry Battles of Aldie, Middleburg, and Upperville."

Explanation
(This amendment provides a $123,600 general fund grant to the Citizens Committee for the Historic Cavalry Battles of Aldie, Middleburg, and Upperville. Appointed by the Loudon County Board of Supervisors, this organization will use the general fund dollars provided in this amendment for the construction of highway pulloffs and the purchase of highway markers commemorating these battles. The cavalry battles of Aldie, Middleburg, and Upperville represented significant clashes between Union troopers, searching for a General Robert E. Lee's army as it marched towards Gettysburg, and horsemen under the direction of General J. E. B.w Stuart.)
