Explanation
(This amendment provides additional general fund dollars to the Department of Conservation and Recreation to assist the Virginia Outdoors Foundation. The general fund dollars included in the amendment will restore a $100,000 reduction in the foundation's support, provide for additional staff to accomodate growth in the program, increase staff for stewardship and compliance activities, and provide for geographic information systems technology so that the Foundation can comply with past agreements between it and VDOT. The Virginia Outdoors Foundation has experienced a significant increase in the number of easement donations during the past four years as property owners respond to a state tax credits for land conservation approved by the General Assembly.)
