"L.  Out of the amounts provided for State Park Conservation, Operations, Preservation, and Management, $375,000 the first year and $375,000 the second year is included to support the restoration of ten positions eliminated during the budget reductions implemented during fiscal year 2003."

Explanation
(This amendment provides additional general fund dollars to the Department of Conservation and Recreation's Division of State Parks to support the restoration of ten positions within the state parks that were eliminated during budget reductions implemented during fiscal year 2003. These positions will address numerous security and customer service needs in the park system, which continues to rank 50th nationally in per capita general fund support. Senate Document 4 (2002) indicated that, overall, the parks system requires more than 100 additional employees.)
