Explanation
(This amendment increases the Medicaid reimbursement for inpatient hospitals by increasing the hospital payment adjustment factor which essentially discounts the rate of Medicaid reimbursement for hospitals. The introduced budget increases the payment adjustment factor from 71 percent to 75 percent beginning in fiscal year 2006. It also makes this funding contingent upon passage of the Governor's tax proposal. This amendment accelerates the increase in the payment adjustment factor to the beginning of fiscal year 2005 and increases the payment adjustment factor to 79 percent in fiscal year 2006.)
