"K.  Effective July 1, 2004, the Department of Medical Assistance Services shall amend the Family Access to Medical Insurance Security Plan and related regulations to cover pregnant women with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty income level."

Explanation
(This amendment would provide health care services through the Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS) Plan to pregnant women with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty income level. Currently, the Medicaid program covers these services for pregnant women with incomes up to 133 percent of the federal poverty income level. By using the FAMIS program to expand services, the state would receive about $2 in federal dollars for every state dollar spent, while avoiding costs associated with poor birth outcomes from lack of appropriate prenatal care.)
