Page 19, after line 44, insert:
"E.  Pursuant to passage of House Bill 1056, 2004 Session of the General Assembly, the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court is authorized to transfer an amount not to exceed $258,542 the first year and $355,770 the second year from the amounts included in this item for Other Court Costs and Allowances to the Public Defender Commission for the development of the standards and training necessary to oversee the eligibility of attorneys to serve as court-appointed counsel to indigent criminal defendants."


Explanation
(This amendment provides for the transfer of general fund dollars from the Criminal Fund to the the Public Defender Commission to develop the standards and training necessary to oversee the eligibility of attorneys to serve as court-appointed counsel to the indigent defendants. The language included in this amendment is contingent upon legislative approval of House Bill 1056.)
