"In addition, $19,040 the first year and $96,010 the second year from the general fund is provided for the costs of systems development, forms revision, and additional data capture necessary to administer voluntary contributions made on individual income tax returns for the Virginia First Responders Fund, which will be effective beginning for tax years on or after January 1, 2005."
Explanation
(This amendment provides additional general fund dollars to the Department of Taxation to support the systems development, forms revision, and additional data capture costs that would be required if a voluntary tax check-off were established to assist first responders. House Bill 367 would create a Virginia First Responders Fund to which income tax filers could contribute a portion of their tax refunds. This amendment is contingent upon legislative approval of House Bill 367.)
