Explanation
(This amendment provides additional general fund dollars to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Commission to support its role in leading the Commonwealth's commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education. During this two-year commemorative period, the commission will also commemorate the 40th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision in Griffin v. Virginia (Prince Edward Public Schools).)
