Page 167, line 47, strike "up to a".
Page 167, line 48, strike "cap of 1,275 students per Governor's School".
Page 168, line 2, after "." insert:  "School divisions shall not reduce local per pupil funding for Governor's Schools below the amounts appropriated in the prior year."

(This amendment removes the cap on Governor's Schools' enrollment. In addition, it inserts a "maintenance of effort" requirement for local funding. Currently there are 1,635 students enrolled at the Thomas Jefferson Governor's School in Fairfax. The incremental cost to increase the cap for just the students currently enrolled at the Fairfax school would be $278,515 in the second year. However, there are other Governor's schools that could increase enrollment if the cap is completely removed. The second year cost is an estimate of that potential impact.)
