A. For any purchase of land for departmental use or facilities, the agency shall first explore using surplus state property to meet its needs.
B. Out of this Item, $1,500,000 is for land acquisition for either the Burke or Chantilly Area Headquarters.
C. The Department of Transportation may acquire, by gift, adjacent land for the Mint Springs Area Headquarters. In exchange, the department may transfer an easement to the adjacent property owner(s). Legal obligations shall not exceed $10,000, and may be transferred from available funds within this project.
