Explanation
(This amendment provides $8,689,166 the second year from the general fund for the state share of the capital cost for five new local and regional juvenile detention facility projects, including the Henrico County, Highlands, Prince William County, W.W. Moore, and Blue Ridge detention facility projects. In addition, a companion amendment to Item 483.10 provides $13,753,380 in general funds the first year to restore cash for the Roanoke, Piedmont, James River, Rappahannock, and Fairfax County Less Secure detention facility projects. Finally, an adjustment on the revenue page provides an additional $3,537,539 to reduce a proposed unallotment, to restore cash for the Fairfax County and Newport News Less Secure detention facility projects. The total cash provided for all of these projects is $25,980,085 from the general fund. Accordingly, a companion amendment to the Treasury Board in Item 291.D.5 removes $864,675 the second year from the general fund for debt service for a proposed Virginia Public Building Authority bond issue which will not be needed to finance these projects.)
