"H.  Out of this appropriation, $1,500,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided to the Virginia Health Care Foundation for expansion of medication assistance programs, to assist low-income elderly, families, and children in accessing free and low-cost prescription drugs.
I. Out of this appropriation, $371,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided to Mountain Empire Older Citizens, Inc., for Pharmacy Connect of Southwest Virginia."

Explanation
(This amendment adds funds for the statewide expansion of local programs that help low-income elderly persons and families apply for free and low-cost medications from pharmaceutical manufacturers. Funding is also provided in the second year for one of these programs in Southwest Virginia, so the program can maintain funding at the FY 2001 level.)
