Explanation
(This amendment provides one position and $35,990 the first year and $84,150 the second year from the general fund for staff and support of the Joint Commission on Behavioral Health Care. This Commission was created during the 2000 Session of the General Assembly to provide the General Assembly a forum for receiving citizen comments and developing improvements to Virginia's publicly funded system of mental health, mental retardation and substance abuse services. A total of three meetings will be held between March and July 2001. An additional six meetings will be held from July through December 2001. A Legislative Services staff position will be dedicated to the Commission; Legislative Services will provide other necessary support services through its general appropriations.)
