Compensation Board

Page 56, line 11, after "C." insert "1."
Page 56, after line 17, insert:
"C.2.  Any jail seeking Compensation Board reimbursement for unbudgeted medical expenses shall certify to the Compensation Board the total amount of funds expended for inmate medical care for the fiscal year in which the unbudgeted medical expense occurred.  The Compensation Board shall not consider any request for reimbursement from any jail which has not expended at least 5 percent of the facility’s per diem revenue for inmate medical care in the fiscal year in which the unbudgeted medical expense occurred."

(This amendment establishes the threshold for a jail's inmate medical care at 5 percent of the localities total jail medical expenses budget for reimbursement from the Compensation Board. Current practice establishes the threshold at 10 percent.)
