Explanation
(This amendment provides $135,000 the second year to implement a training program for teachers and principals in the Western Virginia Public Education Consortium's region (the counties of Alleghany, Bland, Botetourt, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, Roanoke, and Wythe and the cities of Covington, Clifton Forge, Radford, Roanoke, and Salem.). The program provides funding for individuals to be trained in the interpretation of SOL test score results, in the entering of SOL data into statistical software analysis programs, in the analysis of the resultant SOL test score data in order to identify individual student weaknesses and strengths, and in the development of appropriate intervention strategies or needed changes in the local curriculum to increase academic performance.)
