Explanation
(This amendment transfers $211,110 the first year from the general fund into the Legislative Department Reversion Clearing Account. This amount represents the balance of savings from fiscal year 1996 legislative agency balances which was not reallocated by the Joint Rules Committee for telephone and security costs. Accordingly, these funds will be available for unbudgeted cost increases, as determined by the Joint Rules Committee.)

Authority: Title 9, Chapter 20, Code of Virginia.

A. Transfers out of this appropriation may be made to fund unanticipated costs in the budgets of legislative agencies or other such costs approved by the Joint Rules Committee.

B. Included within the amounts provided for in this item is an amount not to exceed $120,000 in the first year, subject to the approval of the Joint Committee on Rules. This amount may be used to support the activities of the Commission established pursuant to Senate Joint Resolution 61 of the 1996 Session of the General Assembly.
