Explanation
(This amendment provide funds for an Aquaculture Genetics and Breeding Technology Center at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. The center would recruit the nation's leading researchers for shellfish and marine finfish genetics and breeding. Initial efforts of the center would concentrate on oysters, hard clams and bay scallops.)
