A. Included in the amounts for Social and Personal Adjustment Services is a minimum of $3,982,600 the first year and $3,982,600 the second year from all funds for sheltered workshop activities.
B. A minimum of $2,279,806 the first year and $2,279,806 the second year from all funds is allocated to support existing Centers for Independent Living.
C. The Department of Rehabilitative Services shall respond to the needs of the Disability Services Boards for information sharing and improved communication through regional and statewide networking. Training for the boards shall be included as part of the agenda of the annual conference sponsored by the Virginia Assistive Technology System. Training needs shall be defined by the boards prior to the conference. The Department shall solicit input from the boards regarding other types of regional forums necessary to facilitate exchange of ideas and information and to enhance public awareness.
D. The Department of Rehabilitative Services shall fulfill the administrative responsibilities pertaining to the Personal Attendant Services program, without interruption or discontinuation of personal attendant services currently provided.
E. Out of this appropriation shall be provided $100,000 the first year and $100,000 the second year from the general fund for expanding the continuum of services used to assist persons with brain injuries in returning to work and community living.
