Explanation
(This amendment adds funds in the second year for the Comprehensive Health Investment Project (CHIP), which provides care coordination, family support, and preventive medical and dental services to low-income, at-risk children from birth to age six. In addition, this amendment requires the CHIP of Virginia to report on the proposed distribution and use of all funds in local CHIP projects by August 1, 1997. It allows the Virginia Department of Health to transfer the ownership of vehicles that had been donated for use in providing CHIP services to CHIP and eliminates the state costs associated with liability insurance for these vehicles.)
