"F.1.  Out of this appropriation, $25,000 the second year from the general fund is provided to convene the first annual conference on the status of women's health in Virginia.  The conference shall address, but not be limited to, health promotion, education, research and care, and shall establish the mission and organization for a public/private initiative to improve the overall health status of women in Virginia.  The conference shall be coordinated by the Virginia Commonwealth University in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Health, the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals Authority, the University of Virginia Medical Center, and the George Mason University School of Nursing.
2.  Any funds provided for the first annual conference on the status of women's health in Virginia which are unexpended on June 1, 1998, shall be allocated to develop a public/private initiative consistent with the recommendations of the conference on the status of women's health in Virginia to improve the overall health status of women."

(This amendment provides funds to initiate a women's health initiative, which will collect health statistics on women, provide an information network, plan an educational conference , and solicit funds from other sources.)
