"C.1. It is the intent of the General Assembly that the Cooperative Extension Service shall give highest priority to all of the programs and services which comprised the original mission of the Extension Service, especially at the local level.  The primary mission areas of the Extension Service include agriculture and natural resources, family and consumer sciences, and 4-H.  The University shall ensure that the Extension Service utilizes information technology to the extent possible in the delivery of the programs."

Explanation
(This amendment modifies mission statement language for the Virginia Tech Cooperative Extension Service. Current language states that the Extension Service should give highest priority to programs that comprised the original mission, "especially agricultural programs at the local level." The amendment removes the emphasis on local agricultural programs and places the emphasis on all programs at the local level. The amendment also spells out the primary mission areas of the Extension Service.)
