Authority: §§ 52-1 and 52-4, Code of Virginia.


A. The Superintendent of State Police shall establish written procedures for the timely and accurate electronic reporting of crime data reported to the Department of State Police in accordance with the provisions of § 52-28, Code of Virginia.  The procedures shall require the principal officer of the reporting organization to certify that the information provided is, to his knowledge and belief, a true and accurate report.  Should the Superintendent have reason to believe that any crime data is missing, incomplete or incorrect after audit of the data, the Superintendent shall notify the reporting organization, as well as the Chairman of the Compensation Board and the Director of the Department of Criminal Justice Services.  Upon receiving and verifying resubmitted data that corrects the report, the Superintendent shall notify the Chairman of the Compensation Board and the Director of the Department of Criminal Justice Services that the missing, incomplete or incorrect data has been satisfactorily submitted.


B. Out of the amounts appropriated for this Item, $3,363,055 the second year from the general fund is provided to initiate the 116th Basic Trooper Academy.
