A. Out of this appropriation, $200,000 from the general fund and $400,000 from nongeneral funds the first year and $400,000 the second year from nongeneral funds is designated to support research capacity in biomedical research and biomaterials engineering.  This reflects the Commonwealth's commitment to research with an emphasis on the development of self-sustaining enterprises that continue beyond the 2008-2010 biennium.


B. The Higher Education Operating fund source listed in this Item is considered to be a sum sufficient appropriation, which is an estimate of funding required by the college to cover sponsored program operations.
