Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 465 of the Acts of Assembly of 2006, $72,000 the first year and $2,169,400 the second year from the general fund and $50,000 the first year and $600,000 second year in nongeneral funds is appropriated to support the Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission and Fund. Such funds shall be used for expenses incurred by the members of the commission, to appoint staff as may be deemed necessary to assist the commission in performing its duties, and to pay for the services of professional personnel, consultants, advisors, or other services which the commission may deem necessary to accomplish the purposes for which it was created.
