A. Out of the amounts for State Agency/Local Legal Assistance and Advice shall be paid:


1. The salary of the Attorney General, $110,667 the first year and $110,667 the second year per year from July 1, 2000 to January 11, 2002, and $138,500 per year from January 12, 2002 to June 30, 2002.


2. Expenses of the Attorney General not otherwise reimbursed, $9,000 each year in equal monthly installments.


3. Salary expenses necessary to provide legal services pursuant to Title 2.1, Chapter 11, Code of Virginia.


B. Upon notification by the Attorney General, agencies that administer programs which are funded wholly or partially from nongeneral fund appropriations shall transfer to the Department of Law the necessary funds to cover the costs of legal services. The Attorney General shall determine the amounts for transfer.


C. The Department of Law shall monitor the additional time and resources allocated to the defense of state agencies for claims against statewide insurance policies.


D. Due to increased time necessary to properly establish a secure facility to house the Sexually Violent Predators Treatment Program, the effective date found in Chapter 1024 of the 2000 Acts of Assembly, which amended Title 37.1, Article 1.1, Chapter 2 of the Code of Virginia, is postponed to January 1, 2003. Funding for renovating the facility is recommended in Item C-161 of this act.
