Authority: Article VI, §§ 1 through 6, Constitution of Virginia; Title 17, Chapter 3 and § 19.2-163, Code of Virginia.

A. Out of the amounts for Appellate Review shall be paid:

1. The annual salary of the Chief Justice, $124,231 from July 1, 1998, to November 24, 1998, $128,790 from November 25, 1998, to November 24, 1999, and $131,688 from November 25, 1999, to June 30, 2000.

2. The annual salaries of the six (6) Associate Justices, each at $116,526 from July 1, 1998, to November 24, 1998, $120,802 from November 25, 1998, to November 24, 1999, and $123,520 from November 25, 1999, to June 30, 2000.

3. To each justice, $6,500 the first year and $6,500 the second year, in lieu of travel and all other expenses incurred incident to the conduct of the business of the Court, except lodging expenses incurred while conducting the business of the Court, said expenses to be paid out of the current appropriation to the Court.

B. There is hereby reappropriated the unexpended balance remaining at the close of business on June 30, 1998, in the appropriation made in Item 24, Chapter 924, Acts of Assembly of 1997, in the subprogram Other Court Costs and Allowances (Criminal Fund) and the balance remaining in this subprogram on June 30, 1999.
