A. If sufficient appropriations are not made available by the Commonwealth, it shall not be necessary for the Virginia Institute of Marine Science to reallocate funds from existing research projects to provide the funding for research mandated in the Code of Virginia or in the Appropriation Act.


B. Out of this appropriation, $150,000 and 1.0 position from the general fund in the first year and $150,000 and 1.0 position from the general fund in the second year is designated to support an Aquaculture Genetics and Breeding Technology Center at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. The center shall coordinate its efforts with the repletion program of the Virginia Marine Resources Commission.


C. Out of this appropriation, $76,320 from the general fund in the first year and $76,320 in the second year is designted for the first of five annual payments for the lease purchase of computing and related equipment totaling approximately $333,884, to support instructional and research activities.
