§ 4-5.10 REMEDIAL EDUCATION
a. All institutions of higher education, including Christopher Newport University, Clinch Valley College, Longwood College, Virginia State University and Virginia Commonwealth University, shall eliminate all remedial education credit hours by June 30, 1998. Instead, institutions should require their students in need of limited remediation to attend such classes within the Virginia Community College System. The institutions shall contract to pay the Virginia Community College System for providing any remedial courses taken by their full-time students, using existing tuition and fee revenue.
b. Students who need more than limited remediation should be required to complete successfully course work at the Virginia Community College System or Richard Bland College before they are admitted to any senior institution.
