Out of this appropriation, $5,000,000 the first year and $5,000,000 the second year from the general fund is provided to the Public Schools Trades Incentive Fund for the purpose of providing grants on a competitive basis from the Fund to any school board that seeks to (i) restore high school programs that teach students skilled trades that lead to earning industry-recognized certifications or credentials, or (ii) create or restore middle school programs that encourage and recruit students to participate in high school programs that teach students skilled trades that lead to earning industry-recognized certifications or credentials, pursuant to passage of Senate Bill 628."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $5.0 million GF each year to the Public Schools Trade Incentive Fund, pursuant to passage of Senate Bill 628 in the 2022 General Assembly Session.)
