The work group shall develop cost estimates and the associated efforts necessary to implement the provisions of Senate Bill 134, to include the state and local fiscal impact and any cost savings realized by reducing the number of individuals in the adult criminal justice system. The Department shall submit a report of the work group's findings to the Governor and the Chairs of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance and Appropriations Committees by September 1, 2022."

Explanation

(This amendment establishes a work group to examine the costs related to the implementation of Senate Bill 134, which would raise the maximum age for delinquency matters in juvenile and domestic relations courts and juvenile criminal procedure from less than 18 to less than 21 years of age.)
