1) $2,000,000 the first year to Direct Aid for Public Education (197) to establish a pilot program in the 2022-2023 school year to address COVID-19-related learning loss in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) areas by promoting digital and personalized learning solutions for middle and high school students that bridge the gap between chemistry and physical science classes and career and technical education (CTE) pathways using a 3-D software platform.  Selected school divisions shall (i) incorporate the STEM-focused educational 3-D software learning program that combines gameplay with Virginia science Standards of Learning, real-world applications, and STEM and CTE pathways in select STEM classes to help mitigate learning loss and encourage student interest and workforce development for Virginia's chemistry-dependent industries, (ii) include unlimited enrollment for middle and high school teachers and students for the duration of the pilot, (iii) receive licenses to the learning platform, including the 3-D educational game, access to training tutorials, access to one-on-one coaching sessions for teachers, and access to a teacher portal to help with rostering, assignments, and auto-grading related to the learning platform."
