Explanation

(This amendment provides funding from the general fund in the first year for House Bill 1115, which amends provisions related to the screening of juveniles by the court system to add a requirement for trauma-informed screening to identify whether any child has been a victim of human trafficking and determine appropriate treatment and service options. The bill also requires that, in cases in which a juvenile and domestic relations district court or circuit court orders that a juvenile within its jurisdiction be physically examined and treated by a physician or local mental health center, such examination include trauma-informed screening measures to identify whether the juvenile has been a victim of human trafficking and determine appropriate treatment and service options. This is a placeholder amendment until a final fiscal impact statement is produced.)
