Page 441, after line 15, insert:

"F. Out of the amounts provided to the Community Flood Preparedness Fund in Item 374 of this act, $11,000,000 the first year is provided to make payments to private property owners of property damaged by a flood, landslide, or mudslide following the August 2021 storm and flooding event in the vicinity of Hurley located within the County of Buchanan. Claims to eligible owners shall be paid up to 175 percent of property value based on the estimated amount of damage. Claims shall be limited to $1,000,000 for commercial properties and $500,000 for residential properties, with such claims paid receiving exemptions from applicable individual and corporate income taxes."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $11.0 million in fiscal year 2023 from the amounts provided to the Community Flood Preparedness Fund in Item 374 pursuant to House Bill 5, 2022 General Assembly, to provide payments to property owners whose property was damaged following the August 2021 storm and flooding event in Hurley, Virginia.)
