Explanation

(This amendment provides $50,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2023 to the Corrects Special Reserve Fund to reflect the indeterminate prison bedspace impact of enacting legislation to be considered by the 2022 Session of the General Assembly which provide that food donors and food receivers be protected from criminal penalty or civil liability for donating or receiving past the best-by date or other non-safety labels as long as all parties are informed and the food is labeled as not meeting all labeling/date requirements, excluding acts of gross negligence or intentional misconduct by either party. This amendment is a placeholder until the bill text and a fiscal impact statement are provided.)
