Explanation

(This amendment provides $34.8 million from the general fund each year to increase the Auxiliary Grant (AG) rate, a state supplement that provides maintenance and care to aged, blind, and disabled adults residing in an assisted living facility (ALF), adult foster care homes, or supportive housing settings, from $1,609 per month to $3,000 per month effective July 1, 2022. The number of individuals receiving Auxiliary Grants has decreased over the years as the number of participating assisted living facilities participating in the program has declined due to the low rate which doesn't cover the cost of care. This local share of the increase is estimated at $9.6 million each year. The estimate assumes an increase of 262 new AG recipients.)
