Explanation

(This amendment provides $750,000 from the general fund each year for Independent Living (IL) services for people with disabilities in geographical areas of the Commonwealth who do not currently have access to these services, including Northern Neck (Westmoreland, Richmond, Lancaster, Northumberland); Southside (Brunswick, Greensville, Halifax, Mecklenburg, Lunenburg, Charlotte); PD14 (Buckingham, Cumberland, Amelia, Prince Edward, Nottoway); Lower PD9 (Rappahannock, Culpeper, Orange, Madison); and Middle Peninsula (Essex, Gloucester King and Queen, King William, Mathews and Middlesex). The funds will establish satellite independent living services in these counties.)
