"S. Out of this appropriation, $100,000 in the first year for the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia to conduct a study to evaluate the growing needs of Virginia's Schools of Nursing so they may more comprehensively and effectively address the extensive nursing shortages in Virginia. The report shall include data related to (i) current and projected nursing shortages, (ii) approaches to prepare more educators, (iii) clinical and preceptor shortages, (iv) retention of current registered nursing workforce, (v) identify partnerships to strengthen nursing educational pipeline, and, (vi) prepare model articulation agreements between 2- and 4-year programs.  SCHEV shall consult with nursing leaders, two-year and four-year educational institutions, healthcare delivery organizations, the Joint Commission on Health Care, the Department of Healthcare Professions, the Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority and other stakeholders and shall report their recommendations to the Governor and Chairs of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance and Appropriations by November 1, 2022."
