Explanation

(This amendment provides $50,000 the first year from the general fund to establish the K-12 Mental Health Support Training Pilot Program. Due to the recent increase in youth mental health challenges, the Virginia Department of Education shall identify a vendor to administer mental health training to school personnel, parents, and students and accept grant applications from any interested school district. Two school districts will be awarded funding and provide data to the House and Senate Education and Health Committees to evaluate if the program should be extended to other districts.)
