Out of this appropriation, $19,551,500 the first year from the general fund shall be provided to the City of Petersburg for expenses incurred from the installation of water and associated infrastructure in the Poor Creek Service area. The water tank and associated infrastructure shall be adequate to ensure the water pressure can support the minimum fire protection and manufacturing needs of a regional pharmaceutical manufacturing cluster."



Explanation

(This amendment provides an additional $19.6 million from the general fund in the first year for the City of Petersburg to improve its water infrastructure to accommodate an emerging Pharmaceutical cluster in the City with Phlow Corp., AMPAC Fine Chemicals, and Civica all located at the same facility. This funding would be in addition to $10 million of funding the 2021 General Assembly provided for the project in Chapter 552.)
