"M. Out of this appropriation, $100,000 the first year and $140,000 the second year from the general fund to support the creation of additional Partnerships for Regional Invasive Species Management (PRISMs) in the Commonwealth.

N. Out of this appropriation, $50,000 the first year and $50,000 the second year from the general fund to support invasive plant species early detection and rapid response activities.

O. Out of this appropriation, $300,000 the first year and $300,000 the second year from the general fund to implement a cost-share program to assist private landowners with the removal of invasive plant species from their property.

P. Out of this appropriation, $100,000 the first year and $100,000 the second year statewide public education campaign aimed at reducing demand for invasive plant species commonly offered for sale in the private market.

Q. Out of this appropriation, $100,000 the first year from the general fund to contract with a university in Virginia to conduct a study which estimates the annual cost impact of invasive plants across the Commonwealth."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $650,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2023 and $590,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2024 to implement several recommendation of the Invasive Plant Species Workgroup including public education regarding the risks of invasive plant species, assisting private landowners with removal of invasive species from their properties, and supporting the creation regional partnership focused on the management of invasive plant species.)
