(This amendment reduces general fund support in the introduced budget by $2.7 million the first year which was earmarked for involuntary mental commitments. The funding was originally included to handle a backlog of claims. However, the Department of Medical Assistance Services has recently resolved the backlog with its third-party claims agency and has reported that the added funding in the introduced budget is no longer needed.)
