Explanation
(This amendment provides an additional $669,789 from the general fund in the second year to offset a portion of the increased "base adequacy" costs associated with actual FY 2004 enrollments exceeding FY 2004 projections. Language has been added to clarify the General Assembly's intention that the institution should place a priority on increasing the number of students graduating with degrees, particularly in fields, such as nursing and education, where the Commonwealth faces critical workforce shortages. Specifically, the amendment directs the College to develop plans for new academic programs to meet high tech workforce needs in the region.)
