"N.  Out of the amounts appropriated for Preservation of Open-Space Lands, $50,000,000 in the second year from the general fund is provided for various land conservation projects.  These projects shall include:  $14,600,000 for the acquisition of wildlife management areas by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries in Southwest Virginia, Southside Virginia, the Allegheny Highlands region, and Hampton Roads;  $2,000,000 for the acquisition of a natural area preserve by the Department of Conservation and Recreation in Stafford County; $1,600,000 for the purchase of an open-space easement in Central Virginia that will be co-held by the Virginia Outdoors Foundation; $16,800,000 for the provision of matching grants by the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation; and $15,000,000 to be distributed equally among those localities that have implemented Purchase of Development Rights programs, provided those localities' Purchase of Development Rights programs have been approved by the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation or the Virginia Agricultural Vitality Program by October 1, 2005."


Explanation
(This amendment provides $50.0 million from the general fund in the second year for land conservation projects. These projects include: $18.2 million for state agencies to acquire land for either public use or open space preservation, $16.8 million for use by the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation, and $15.0 million for use by local Purchase of Development Rights programs.)
