"M.  Out of the amounts appropriated for Shoreline Management, $100,000 and one position are provided for the addition of a shoreline erosion control engineer who will work with property owners along tidal estuaries to install cost-effective measures for stabilizing tidal shorelines and reducing sediments in Virginia's rivers and the Chesapeake Bay."

(This amendment provides $100,000 and one position from the general fund in the second year to the Department of Conservation and Recreation for the addition of a shoreline erosion control engineer. This position will provide technical assistance for the installation of appropriate erosion control measures along tidal estuaries, dimishing the environmental impacts from sediments entering the Chesapeake Bay, silting over oyster beds, and damaging the growth of submerged aquatic vegetation.)
