Explanation
(This amendment provides an increase of $650,000 from the general fund in the second year for the Centers for Independent Living to expand transition services to people in nursing homes and other institutions who want to transition to community living. Services would include independent living skills training, advocacy, peer counseling, and information and referral services for individuals interested in transitioning to community living. This amount adds to the new funding provided in the introduced budget of $150,000 for this purpose. With this funding, the total provided for transition services would be $800,000.)
