Page 121, after line 12, insert:
"D. This appropriation includes $81,197 the second year from the general fund for compensation and expenses of the Commission on Civics Education, if codified in the 2005 General Assembly Session."
Page 121, line 13, strike "D." and insert "E."

(This amendment provides almost $81,200 the second year to fund the costs of compensation and expenses of the 21-member Commission on Civics Education. The members shall be the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, four members of the House of Delegates, two members of the Senate, and ten non-legislative members with prescribed expertise in Civics-related studies or activities. Out of this request, $55,000 will pay for an hourly employee to provide staff support for the commission.)
