Explanation
(This amendment would provide $115,000 from the general fund in the second year to implement the provisions of the Beekeeper Assistance Program created pursuant to Senate Bill 200 adopted by the 2004 General Assembly. This program is intended to assist Virginia beekeepers in maintaining healthy, productive bee colonies in consultation with the Plant Pollination Advisory Board. The program would include the provision of miticide to beekeepers, establishment of a queen production program, and assistance in establishing a cooperative organization to purchase supplies at wholesale prices.)
