Language Page 482, after line 18, insert:"Out of the amounts for Financial Assistance for Cultural and Artistic Affairs, $25,000 the second year from the general fund is provided to Greenway Court."
Explanation(This amendment provides $25,000 in the second year to Clarke County to assist with the development of a structural evaluation report and interpretative plan, the performance of archaeological examinations, and the actual rehabilitation of three eighteenth century structures remaining from the property that was once Greenway Court, the home of Thomas, Lord Fairfax, from 1747 until his death in 1781. Clarke County purchased a conservation easement on 140 acres containing these three structures in July 2003. The county has already received a cash grant of $100,000 from Save America's Treasures for this project. Currently, Clarke County is actively applying for another $50,000 in grants from other private foundations. The total cost of the work necessary to preserve these three structures is $200,000. The property was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960.)
