"Out of the amounts for Financial Assistance for Cultural and Artistic Affairs, $25,000 the second year from the general fund is provided to the Conner House."

Explanation
(This amendment provides $25,000 from the general fund in the second year to the Conner House. The Conner House is listed on both the Virginia Register of Historic Landmarks and National Register of Historical Places. The house was built in 1820 as a manor house, using red sandstone from a local quarry. During the Civil War, the house served as the headquarters of Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston. The house is an excellent example of a manor house for a large general farm in Northern Virginia and is one of the only three antebellum residential structures in the region. The funds requested would be used to help stabilize the interior walls, which are needed to prevent other parts of the house from being compromised.)
