Explanation(This amendment provides $30,000 from the general fund in the second year to the Wakefield Foundation for the installation of an elevator. The Wakefield Foundation was originally organized to preserve and restore the former Wakefield High School Building and now administers programs for the well-being of Wakefield residents and the surrounding community. Currently, the only means of access to the auditorium in which most programs are held is a very narrow, steep staircase. This staircase is difficult for elderly persons to climb and impossible for the handicapped to use.)
